Before The Rose Maven® existed, I had a completely different plan for my life.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from UMass Boston and expected to follow the traditional corporate path. Like many ambitious graduates, I imagined a steady climb toward leadership roles and eventually becoming a Chief of Staff.
But life has a way of rewriting plans.
After six years working at a global company, I was unexpectedly laid off. Overnight, the career path I had carefully built disappeared.
What came next was a reality many professionals quietly experience but rarely talk about. Despite my education and experience, the opportunities that appeared were a step backward. The roles offered were primarily administrative positions that didn’t reflect the work I had already done.
Instead of forcing myself back into a path that no longer felt aligned, I decided to try something different.
I decided to build something of my own.
Discovering Preserved Roses
Around that time, I became fascinated by preserved roses.
Unlike fresh flowers that fade within days, preserved roses are real roses that have been professionally treated to maintain their natural beauty for over a year without water.
The concept immediately struck me as powerful.
Roses have always symbolized love, celebration, and meaningful moments. But traditional bouquets disappear almost as quickly as they arrive.
Preserved roses offered something different.
They allowed a single moment — a birthday, anniversary, or milestone — to remain visible long after the celebration ended.
That idea stayed with me.
Building The Rose Maven®
In 2019, I launched The Rose Maven®, a brand dedicated to luxury preserved roses designed to last over a year.
From the beginning, my goal was simple: create elegant rose arrangements that feel intentional, lasting, and meaningful.
Each arrangement uses real Ecuadorian roses, carefully preserved to maintain their velvety texture and natural appearance. They are styled by hand to serve as gifts people can enjoy long after the moment they were given.
Over time, what started as a small idea grew into a recognized preserved rose brand serving customers across the United States.
More Than Flowers
Entrepreneurship is rarely a straight line.
Building The Rose Maven® required navigating uncertainty, personal challenges, and moments of doubt. Like many founders, I experienced seasons of anxiety and setbacks along the way.
But the process of building something meaningful also created space for creativity, resilience, and growth. The Rose Maven® became more than a business. It became proof that sometimes the unexpected detours lead to the most fulfilling destinations.
A Rose That Lasts
Today, The Rose Maven® continues to focus on what first inspired the brand: creating preserved rose arrangements that transform fleeting moments into lasting memories.
Fresh flowers are beautiful. But preserved roses allow that beauty to stay. And sometimes that’s exactly what a moment deserves.
